Daniel Møller Sneum will present findings from students at the Technical University in Denmark who made pre-feasibility studies of solutions for Dartmouth’s transition towards more renewable energy.
Furthermore, Daniel will share his research on district heating at US universities, conducted during his stay at Dartmouth. His research explores how current policies are drivers or barriers for flexible district energy systems and their integration with renewables and electricity markets. University campuses define the geographical scope, district energy the technological scope, and flexibility the thematic scope. Daniel also explores proposed changes and how they could improve the integration of district energy systems to facilitate a more efficient, flexible, and renewables-based energy system.

Tuck Sustains, Revers Center for Energy and the Center for Business, Government, and Society invite you to join, Fortunat Mueller, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, ReVision Energy, for an Earth Week discussion on climate change, building an entrepreneurial clean technology venture, and the role that academic institutions like, Dartmouth, play in helping the region and the country achieve aggressive clean energy targets.ReVision Energy is a B Corporation, has installed over 7,000 solar energy systems in the region - including on the Dartmouth campus - and is ranked #1 Rooftop Solar Contractor in New England by Solar Power World. Their mission is to help people and businesses transition away from fossil fuels to sustainable solar energy. Fortunat holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University, serves on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association, and began his career as a senior systems engineer at United Technologies Fuel Cells.

Tuck’s Revers Center for Energy and the Center for Business, Government, and Society invite you to join, Dan Kalafatas, Chairman and Co-Founder, 3Degrees, for a discussion about how they provide clean energy services, including PPAs, RECs, community solar and more, to organizations looking to meet sustainability goals. With key clients and partnerships ranging from Audi and L’Oreal, to supporting renewable energy initiatives with San Francisco’s BART (5th largest rapid transit system in the US), City of Portland’s 100% renewable energy commitments, and powering Akami data centers with renewable energy, we will discuss key trends in 100% renewable energy commitments, transportation electrification, and the energy intensity of data centers.
3Degrees is B corporation with offices across the US, offering renewable energy and carbon offset solutions including over 1.9GW of renewable power transactions completed, 120 million RECs delivered to clients, 84 government agency clients, 8.8 million verified carbon credits delivered, touching 20% of Americans. Dan Kalafatas, is a graduate, with honors, of Dartmouth College, and Stanford GSB. He co-led the formation of 3Degrees in 2007, and currently serves as the chairman of the board of directors, focusing on strategic initiatives and the company’s long-term corporate strategy.

The event is sponsored by the Sierra Club Upper Valley Group, the Student Conservation Association (SCA), and the Montshire Museum of Science.
